OSHA Inspectors At Lowest Levels In History: Are Workers More Vulnerable Than Ever?

In 2018, according to the National Employment Law Project, there were only 875 OSHA workplace safety inspectors, representing the lowest amount of OSHA inspectors in the history of the agency. Naturally, this begs the question: If OSHA safety inspectors are stretched so thin, how are workplace safety protections going to be ensured?

The “big picture” as we see it at Gordon Gordon & Centracchio is that a lack of OSHA inspectors puts both employers and workers in a bad position. We will not be surprised if this year marks one of the highest on record for workplace accidents.
